Job Overview:
This position plays a key role within a Credit Card Customer Life Cycle Management Department by building and executing statistical models that help predict customer behavior and support Credit Risk and Marketing Strategies for customers.
Responsibilities
- Reports to Manager, Customer Modeling & Analytics.
- Develops predictive models that will form the basis of information-driven strategies executed within the department for credit limit assignment, marketing promotions, customer service, collections and other functional areas.
- Conducts validation and maintenance of all statistical models and recommends appropriate courses of action.
- Develops and maintains expertise with lending, credit scoring, behaviour scoring, portfolio management, direct marketing, data mining and industry trends.
- Consults with internal clients to help with planning and executing statistical analysis to assist in meeting business objectives.
- Ongoing monitoring of model performance and provides appropriate statistical analysis.
Required Competencies
- University degree in Mathematics, especially Statistics or Combinatorics and Optimization.
- Strong knowledge of statistics and predictive methodologies.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into statistically sound solutions.
- Programming experience, especially with data extraction/mining tools (e.g. SAS and SQL).
- Keen interest in a career in predictive analytics.
- Credit Card, Personal Insurance or other Financial Services experience.
- Experience in the development of customer segmentation and profiling strategies.
- Experience with predictive modelling/data mining software SAS.
- Knowledge of credit scoring and strategy development techniques an asset.
- Experience with Credit Risk systems (e.g. TRIAD, Acquisition Adjudication systems an asset.
