Job Overview:

The mandate of this role is Lead development, implementation and measurement of comprehensive collections strategies to control delinquency and reduce losses, and contribute to profitable management of International Banking retail credit portfolios. To provide direction for all international sites relative to collections strategies and best practices.

 
Responsibilities:

• Lead and plan collections optimization initiatives to maximize net collections over time, reduce losses while containing costs, and maximize customer profitability by leveraging World Class technology and best practices. Collections optimization initiatives include integrating Triad/Debt Manager/Placements Plus/Auto Dialer, improving allocation of collections resources, and increasing operational efficiency.
• Manage collections block of World Class projects including inputs/reviews of requirement documents and collaboration with internal stakeholder (e.g. collections, information system and technology) and external vendors (e.g. Fair Isaac) to ensure complete and seamless integration between systems, and reduce risk of disconnection.
• Work with the TRIAD Risk Management team and the site to develop collections strategies (i.e. segmentation-based, prioritized treatment of delinquent accounts), as well as champion-challenger strategies. Assist in the review of the measurement of all collection strategies to ensure continuous improvement of strategy effectiveness.
• Build and enhance collaborative partnerships with Shared Services. Communicate delinquency movement dynamics and volume impact to Shared Services. Review operational complexity, optimize collections workflow, and adjust key control targets with Shared Services to increase operational efficiency.
• Pool business knowledge of collections managers and staffs and combine it with analytics to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Form breeding ground for new ideas, promote shared ownership of problems and issues, and ensure continuous commitment to collections optimization initiatives.
• Provide expert knowledge/counsel to on-site credit risk management personnel relative to collections strategies and best practices.
  

Required Competencies:

• Expert knowledge of consumer credit lifecycle and account management decision areas for collections.
• Expert knowledge of TRIAD, Debt Manager, Placements Plus, Auto Dialer, collections operation.
  Knowledge on collections strategy development and champion-challenger testing.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in credit risk management with a proven track record of successfully managing delinquent portfolios.
• Postgraduate/graduate degree in an analytic discipline e.g. engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics.
• Strong statistical/MIS background and ability to apply statistical techniques to perform segmentation/ clustering/modelling at regional, country, customer, and account levels.
• Knowledge of retail credit risk management best practices from a global perspective.
• Strong project management skills to manage competing projects on a
  concurrent or staggered basis.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills to drive changes.
• Must be fluent in Spanish.
• The following are the desirable skills the incumbent must possess:
• Exposure to delinquency movement, loss provisioning, collections and recovery models.
• Experience with revolving credit and instalment loan receivables management systems (e.g. FDR/ACS, CLS).
• Strong business writing and financial analysis skills complemented with solid deductive reasoning, sound judgement and creativity.
