JOB OVERVIEW :
The
mandate of this role is for the orchestration of technologies and
processes to transform data into an enterprise asset that yields
business value for, and is responsible for the overall management of
the availability, usability, integrity, and security of the data
employed in the Retail Lending business of International Banking.
Responsibilities:
- Develop
an end-to-end data architecture to ensure consistency, completeness,
accuracy, and timeliness of information for managed and targeted
portfolios.
- Develop data acquisition strategies
for newly integrated or converted systems and newly acquired banks,
ensure the information meets area's business requirements;
- Perform
data mappings for all retail systems to ensure platform-independent
data standards for all front-end and back-end applications, ensure
integrity of data across various source systems. Create data mapping
documentation and data dictionaries;
- ParticiDefine
technical requirements for common retail management reports for
each site as well as at divisional level. Ensure that the Bank's
analysis and methodology is consistent with industry best practices;
- Ensure
that GL & source system data feeds are reconciled and that a clear,
consistent portrayed of divisional numbers are always presented to
bank's executives;
- Control definition standards and maintain
consistency among all of the area’s tools (SAS, Business Objects,
Cognos applications, etc) and reports (KPIs, Roll Rate Model, Vintage
reports, Provision reports, Channel reports, etc) for Toronto
based users and site users;
- Direct complex business process
reviews, define data management strategies and processes, document
business process standards, data definitions/standards, maintain a
series of audit trial
Required Competencies:
- A post-secondary degree (or equivalent work experience) in information system, statistics or computer science
- Minimum
of ten or more years of progressive, relevant and practical experience
with world class organizations, preferably in the risk management,
finance or information management fields
- Proven
track record of success in leading and implementing effective
information systems that support and generate profitable and informed
decision-making in the financial services sector
- Must
have experience and knowledge of complex multi-dimensional computer
design, programming, testing, problem solving and systems analysis
experience in order to work cross functionally within an environment of
multiple data repositories, multi-systems, multi-architectures,
multi-vendors and multi-business lines.
- Strong technical requirement gathering and documentation skills are essential
- Knowledge
of database architecture & design, understanding of the procedures
and issues of implementing ETL Loading routines from source systems
into the data base
- Ability to perform data mapping data cleaning/validation across different system platforms;
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Expertise
in at least two major BI software, such as SAS, MS Access, VBA, MS SQL
Server, Cognos etc in multiple computer platforms
- Broad knowledge of current technology and practices in information systems and technology;
- Knowledge of web portal design, implementation and maintenance would be highly desirable;
- A good knowledge of credit products and credit risk management methodologies, and experience in the financial reporting process
- Experience effectively working in a global matrix team, across a range of functions, seniority and geography
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
