Job Overview:
The mandate of this role is to be accountable for measuring, monitoring and controlling portfolio risk tolerance thresholds through early warning dashboard reporting, origination management dashboard reporting, and assessment of front-end application trends for new acquired accounts at an international level.
Responsibilities
- Working with Card Products, Retail Lending, Marketing and MIS, the incumbent will be responsible for the development and implementation of new account origination risk tolerance criteria, analytics and creation of control system to identify areas of high risk to tighten and areas of low risk to grow financial results.
- Manage the risk segmentation for a variety of unique products, channels and segments across retail lending portfolios.
- As a member of the Origination Management Analytics team, the Senior Manager will proactively contribute to portfolio risk strategy by delivering comprehensive analytics that measure adjudication quality across multiple dimensions.
- Develop and implement plans to action the results from analyses and proactively manage a control system environment.
- Monitor, assess and evaluate various risk management strategies and overall adjudication effectiveness. Through various depths of analysis, work closely with product and marketing teams to develop actionable recommendations to enhance program effectiveness and profitability.
- Deliver on analytical projects that provide actionable insights to improve originations management. Analytical projects include; originations performance review and analysis, strategy performance assessment, challenger strategy development, implementation and performance monitoring, portfolio loss and delinquency analysis.
- Champion the use of data-driven decisioning and build improvements into existing decisioning processes and tools. Provide leadership in establishing consistency and standardization in both decision strategy development and originations performance measurements.
Required Competencies
- Strong analytical and MIS background, including the ability to apply standard statistical techniques using SAS to extract, analyze and manage data.
- Minimum 5 years experience in the Financial Services industry with particular experience in various analytical techniques for account origination/acquisition, performance measurement and evaluation.
- Ability to innovatively and prudently manage portfolio risks through the development of controls systems that maximize profitability with an appropriate balance between growth and credit risk.
- Solid interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain strong and influential relationships with business area managers and executives.
- Presents and articulates views clearly and convincingly without overwhelming the audience with data.
- Must be a team player that is able to multi-task and effectively prioritize work in a deadline driven environment.
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail, able to work independently through obstacles.
- Ability to quickly turn around insight driven analytics in response to risk and portfolio performance issues as they arise.
- Must have advanced level of experience with SAS and an ability to manage and organize information from a diverse range of data environments in order to interpret for management presentation purposes.
- University degree in a quantitative area.
